Pakistan named its squad for the Women's Asia Cup in Dubai. The Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed the 15-member roster on Sunday, with all-rounder Fatima Sana set to lead the side. The DP World Women’s Asia Cup takes place from Aug. 28 to Sept. 13 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Pakistan competes in Group A against India, Thailand, and Hong Kong-China. Group B features Bangladesh, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and the UAE, setting the stage for a competitive eight-team event in the Emirates.

Pakistan is seeded with Thailand and will play them in the Sept. 17 fourth quarter-final at Korogi Athletic Park in Aichi. Other matchups in the quarter-finals include India against Japan and Bangladesh facing China. If Pakistan advances past the quarter-final, they will face either Sri Lanka or Malaysia in the semifinal on Sept. 20. The bronze and gold medal matches are scheduled for Sept. 22. Pakistan previously won gold medals in the 2010 and 2014 editions of the event and finished fourth in 2022. The Asian Games squad features players such as Aliya Riaz and Tasmia Rubab.
