His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates, sent a personal congratulatory message to President Noboa. Joining him, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who holds the offices of Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, also conveyed his best wishes. The third message was delivered by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who serves as Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court. All three messages were released on 11 August 2026, the day Ecuador commemorates its independence from Spanish rule, a national holiday observed annually across the country. By aligning the timing of the messages with the holiday, the UAE highlighted its respect for Ecuador’s historical milestone.

On 10 August 2026 the UAE expressed solidarity with the Republic of Niger after a tragic collision between two buses that resulted in dozens of deaths and injuries. The same day the UAE conveyed condolences to the Republic of Colombia after an earthquake caused deaths, injuries and substantial property damage. Those statements, together with the congratulations to Ecuador, illustrate the UAE’s active engagement in humanitarian and diplomatic matters worldwide.
In the same week, Her Excellency Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, represented the UAE at the presidential inauguration ceremony in Colombia, attending the swearing‑in of President Abelardo de la Espriella.
