The UAE Government's official online platform,u.ae, has attracted more than 11 million users over the past 12 months, the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) announced this month (per Zawya).
Traffic and engagement
TDRA said the redesigned portal recorded over 18 million visits in the same period, averaging about 1.5 million visits per month (per Telecompaper). Smartphones accounted for more than 60 per cent of total usage, underlining the shift toward mobile-first access to federal services (per Gulf Today).
Content related to visa and residency services drew the largest share of attention, making up more than 20 per cent of total page views a reflection of the country's continued pull as a destination for talent, investors and entrepreneurs (per Zawya).
Why the platform matters
u.ae operates as the single digital front door connecting residents, citizens and visitors to federal and local government services across the seven emirates. TDRA frames it as the backbone of the country's digital government strategy, consolidating service journeys that previously sat on dozens of separate agency websites (per TechAfrica News).
Authorities have highlighted the milestone as evidence that user trust in unified digital government channels is growing. The platform's redesigned architecture emphasises personalised dashboards, smart search and integration with UAE Pass, the national digital identity used to sign in and authorise transactions (per Gulf Today).
Context within the wider digital push
The 11-million-user figure lands as the UAE accelerates broader digital-government commitments, including the federal cabinet's recently approved framework to migrate half of government services to agentic artificial intelligence within two years (per The National). Officials have positioned u.ae as the user-facing layer where many of those AI-assisted journeys will eventually surface.
TDRA did not break out how many of the 11 million users are UAE citizens, residents or visitors from abroad. The authority said it will continue to expand language support, accessibility features and proactive notifications to extend reach across the platform's audience.
