The highly anticipated Arabic drama Momken, which pairs Lebanese star Nadine Nassib Njeim with Tunisian actor Dhafer L'Abidine for the first time, will no longer air during Ramadan 2026 as originally planned. Producers behind the series have confirmed that the show has been pushed out of the holy month slot and will arrive on MBC Shahid at a later date.
According toAl Bawaba, the decision was made to allow more time for filming and post-production. The producers said the project requires a longer schedule to complete the technical work and protect the quality of the final cut, rather than rushing to meet the competitive Ramadan window when most Arabic dramas premiere.
Momken is directed by Amin Dorra and written by Mona El Shimi.Al Bawabareports that the supporting cast includes Zeina Makki, Anjo Rihane, Alan Saadeh and Dali Jo, alongside Njeim and L'Abidine in the lead roles of Nour and Ziad. The story follows a man who heals hearts but carries wounds from his own past, and a woman worn down by experience, whose paths intertwine as social pressures and old memories shape their decisions.
Industry coverage fromThe Nationalearlier flagged Momken as one of the marquee Ramadan 2026 titles, with Cedars Art Production positioning it as a tentpole release alongside other regional dramas. The delay reshuffles MBC Shahid's Ramadan slate, where Njeim had been one of the most heavily promoted names.
For Njeim, the postponement is a notable shift after a busy run of Ramadan-season releases in recent years. The Lebanese actress remains one of the most bankable stars in pan-Arab drama, and her on-screen pairing with L'Abidine has been generating high anticipation since the project was first announced.
MBC Shahid has not yet confirmed a new premiere date for Momken. The platform indicated the series will air once production is fully wrapped and quality checks are completed, with an updated release window expected to be announced in the coming months.
