Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan arrived at the Mawaheb Talent Hub in Al Ain on Wednesday morning, accompanied by officials from the Department of Government Enablement. The visit focused on recent accomplishments and the rollout of new programmes aimed at nurturing local talent. Both parties discussed how the hub can further support the UAE’s vision for a skilled workforce.
What the Mawaheb Talent Hub Achieved
Since its launch, the hub has trained over 3,500 participants across technical, creative and entrepreneurial tracks. Graduates have secured positions in leading Emirati firms, boosting regional employment rates. The centre also introduced a mentorship network linking industry veterans with emerging professionals, a model praised for its practical impact. This network has connected over 200 mentors with their mentees, providing valuable guidance and support. The hub’s training programmes have been tailored to meet the needs of the local job market, with a focus on emerging industries such as renewable energy and smart cities.
The Mawaheb Talent Hub has also established partnerships with local businesses, providing graduates with opportunities for internships and employment. For example, the hub partnered with Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Airways to offer training in customer service and aviation management. This partnership has resulted in over 100 graduates securing employment with the airline.
New Initiatives Unveiled
During the tour, officials announced two new initiatives: a digital skills boot‑camp for youth and a partnership with local universities to offer joint certification courses. The boot‑camp will run for six weeks and target 200 students in its first cohort. University collaborations aim to align curricula with market needs, ensuring graduates are job‑ready. The hub has partnered with Al Ain University to offer a joint certification course in data analytics, which will be launched in September 2026.
The digital skills boot‑camp will focus on developing skills in areas such as coding, data analysis and digital marketing. Participants will have access to industry experts and will be provided with a stipend to support their learning. The hub has allocated AED 1 million to support the boot‑camp, which is expected to benefit over 1,000 students in the first year.
Support from the Department of Government Enablement
The Department of Government Enablement highlighted its role in providing funding and policy guidance to the hub. A senior manager noted that the centre’s growth aligns with national goals to diversify the economy and reduce reliance on traditional sectors. Continued investment is expected to expand the hub’s capacity by 25 percent over the next two years. The Department has allocated AED 5 million to support the hub’s expansion, which will enable it to train an additional 1,000 participants per year.
The Department has also provided policy guidance to the hub, helping it to develop programmes that meet the needs of the local job market. The hub has been working closely with the Department to develop a new programme in smart cities, which will be launched in January 2027. This programme will provide training in areas such as urban planning, data analysis and smart infrastructure.
Future Outlook for Talent Development in Al Ain
Looking ahead, the Mawaheb Talent Hub plans to launch an innovation lab where startups can prototype ideas under expert supervision. The lab will focus on renewable energy, smart city solutions and cultural industries, reflecting Al Ain’s evolving economic landscape. Stakeholders expressed confidence that these steps will cement the hub’s reputation as a leading talent incubator in the UAE. The hub has secured a partnership with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office to support the launch of the innovation lab, which is expected to create over 500 jobs in the next five years.
The hub has also announced plans to expand its reach to other emirates, with a focus on developing talent in emerging industries. The hub has partnered with Dubai’s Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation to develop a new programme in artificial intelligence, which will be launched in 2027. This programme will provide training in areas such as machine learning, natural language processing and robotics.
