Etihad Airways is adding flights on five routes. The airline says strong passenger demand is driving the expansion, which includes new year‑round services and longer seasonal runs.
New year‑round service to Dhaka
Etihad’s Abu Dhabi–Dhaka route launched on 26 June 2026 with a sold‑out inaugural flight. The carrier now operates four weekly Boeing 777 services on the route, each offering 28 Business class seats and 374 Economy seats.
The year‑round schedule aims to serve the UAE’s sizable Bangladeshi community, providing more flexibility for both leisure and business travellers. By keeping the frequency steady, Etihad hopes to capture the sustained demand that followed the successful launch.
Expanded European routes and seasonal extensions
From 27 July, the Abu Dhabi–Kraków service will increase from three to four flights a week, giving travellers an extra option for weekend getaways.
Meanwhile, Brussels flights will rise from seven to 11 weekly services starting 15 December 2026, with four additional Airbus A321LR aircraft that feature First, Business and Economy cabins.
“The response from our guests has exceeded our expectations, with strong demand across very different markets, from Brussels and Dhaka to Kraków, Zanzibar and Palma, and we’re responding by adding capacity where demand is strongest.” — Arik De, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer, Etihad Airways
Seasonal services are also being extended. Zanzibar flights will now run until 31 March 2027, rather than ending in September, while Palma de Mallorca services will continue until 18 October 2026, giving travellers more time to enjoy the Mediterranean’s autumn appeal.
Enhanced travel benefits
Etihad recently partnered with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) to roll out complimentary medical travel insurance for eligible international visitors travelling to or transiting through Abu Dhabi.
The added benefit aims to make the airline’s expanded network more attractive to health‑conscious travellers.
With the new routes and extended services, Etihad positions itself to capture a broader mix of leisure and business traffic, reinforcing its role as a key connector between the Middle East and Europe, Africa and Asia.
