Dubai will host its inaugural Environment Conference & Exhibition next month. The Dubai Environment and Climate Change Authority (DECCA) announced the event scheduled for 7–8 September at the Grand Hyatt Dubai. It runs under the patronage of Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy.
Themed ‘Protecting Our Environment… Securing Our Future’, the gathering aims to advance environmental dialogue and climate action across national and regional levels. This initiative reinforces Dubai’s standing as a global hub for sustainability and environmental innovation. The conference seeks to unite key stakeholders to address pressing ecological challenges through focused dialogue.
DECE 2026 aligns with several strategic frameworks, including the UAE National Climate Change Plan 2017–2050 and the UAE Net Zero 2050 Strategy. It also supports the National Green Agenda 2030, the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, and the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan. These connections highlight the event's role in meeting broader environmental and sustainability objectives.
The program will feature panel discussions, research presentations, and expert-led sessions alongside a specialised environmental exhibition. This exhibition will complement the dialogue by displaying the latest environmental innovations and technologies. Decision-makers, government and private-sector representatives, and environmental specialists will explore the future of sustainability in Dubai while examining key climate challenges.
His Excellency Ahmed Mohammed bin Thani, Director General of DECCA, emphasized the event's significance. “The Dubai Environment Conference & Exhibition will bring together leading specialists in sustainability and environmental protection from across the UAE and the wider region,” he said. He noted that the inaugural edition reflects Dubai’s commitment to strengthening environmental protection and climate action as part of its journey toward sustainable growth.
The event aims to provide a platform for exchanging knowledge and establishing partnerships between government entities, private companies, and academic institutions. It will explore emerging solutions and advanced technologies to accelerate progress toward sustainability. Additionally, DECE 2026 intends to strengthen cooperation with the education sector and advance scientific research, supporting the development of innovative solutions for a more sustainable future.
