Dubai drivers navigating between E611 and Umm Al Sheif Street could soon enjoy a 54% faster commute, thanks to the Latifa bint Hamdan Corridor. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has greenlit the Dh2-billion project, which will slash a 33-minute journey to just 15 minutes once completed by 2028.
Spanning 12 kilometers, the corridor will link Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Khail Road, and other major arteries, easing pressure on some of the city’s busiest roads. With seven bridges and eight tunnels, the route is designed to handle 16,000 vehicles hourly, serving 650,000 residents and visitors daily.
Key Features of the Corridor
The project includes 2,300 meters of bridges and 900 meters of tunnels, ensuring smooth traffic flow even during peak hours. It’s expected to accommodate over 130,000 daily trips, supporting Dubai’s expanding residential and commercial hubs. Mattar Al Tayer, RTA Director General, called it a "proactive step" to future-proof the city’s infrastructure.
