Global girl group XG attended the 52nd American Music Awards on May 25, 2026 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, where members Jurin, Chisa, Hinata, Harvey, Juria, Maya and Cocona discussed their ongoing world tour and their first AMAs experience on the red carpet,according to Billboard. The seven-member group spoke with Billboard's Tetris Kelly and Chelley Bissainthe before the ceremony got underway.
Meeting the Jonas Brothers in Las Vegas
In the Billboard interview, members described a chance encounter with the Jonas Brothers earlier in the Las Vegas weekend. The members also told Entertainment Tonight's Denny Directo that running into the American pop trio helped set the tone for their first AMAs appearance, and that they were enjoying the moment at their debut at the awards show.
Excited to see KATSEYE perform
Asked which act they were most looking forward to seeing, the group named global girl group KATSEYE, who were also among the night's performers. The members spoke about appreciating peers in the same global-pop space rather than treating them as competition, framing the AMAs as a chance to support other rising acts on the same stage.
The Core World Tour
XG used the red-carpet conversation to highlight their second world tour,XG World Tour: The Core, which opened in Yokohama, Japan on February 6, 2026 and is routed through Asia, North America, the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia and Latin America.Billboard Canada reports the seven-show North American winter leg begins on November 3 at Oakland Arena in Oakland, California, then visits Los Angeles, Chicago, Hamilton (Ontario), Newark and Dallas before closing at Mexico City on November 22.
The Core album
The tour supports the group's first full-length studio album,THE CORE, released on January 23, 2026, which debuted at number 93 on the Billboard 200,per Star News Korea. That marked XG's first appearance inside the chart's top 100, after their 2024 mini-album AWE peaked at 175. The AMAs appearance marked XG's first time at the ceremony.
