UAE travellers can secure international flights at up to half price after Air India Express launched its Xpress Sale, putting five million discounted seats on the market across its India, Middle East and Southeast Asia network. The promotion was announced on 27 May 2026 and runs as a flash sale with a tight booking window, giving residents of Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah a narrow opportunity to lock in cheaper summer fares.
According to Khaleej Times, the booking window opened on 27 May and closes on 31 May 2026, with travel valid between 15 June and 10 October 2026. Customers booking through the carrier's official website and mobile app received exclusive early access on 27 May, before the sale extended to major third-party booking platforms from 28 May.
Discount structure and fare classes
Arabian Business reports that the headline discount of up to 50 per cent applies to Lite fares, which exclude check-in baggage, and to Value fares, which include a standard baggage allowance. Air India Express is also waiving convenience fees for direct bookings made through its website and app during the promotional period, a move designed to push more traffic to its own channels.
Tata NeuPass members who log in before booking can claim an additional 20 per cent off Business Class fares, stacking on top of the headline discount. The airline is also offering up to 30 per cent off add-on services including pre-booked meals and excess baggage, according to coverage in Curly Tales.
What the sale covers
The Xpress Sale spans Air India Express routes connecting the UAE with major Indian cities as well as destinations across the wider Middle East and Southeast Asia. The carrier confirmed that its existing concessionary fares for students, senior citizens and armed forces personnel remain in place alongside the new promotional rates.
For UAE residents planning summer trips home or holiday breaks, the combination of a tight five-day booking window and a four-month travel window through to October makes the sale most useful for travellers who already have firm dates. Industry watchers note that Air India Express has been steadily expanding its Gulf network as parent group Tata pushes the low-cost arm into greater competition with flydubai and Air Arabia on India routes.
How to book
Passengers are advised to book directly via airindiaexpress.com or the Air India Express mobile app to avoid convenience fees and to access the full discount stack. Fares are subject to availability and the airline's standard fare rules, and the carrier has warned that the lowest fare buckets are expected to sell out well before the 31 May deadline.
