The scope also extends to academic researchers, university representatives, athletes, sports officials, performers, and cultural participants.
Visitors do not need to be speakers or exhibitors to qualify. General attendees included in an organiser's sponsorship list may also apply. The eligible events are diverse, spanning international conferences, corporate summits, trade exhibitions, and business conventions. Investment forums, economic conferences, and educational forums are also covered, alongside cultural festivals, sporting competitions, and entertainment programmes. Sponsorship and Application Process
Sponsorship is a mandatory requirement for the UAE Events Visit Visa. Individual travellers cannot apply independently; instead, applications must be submitted through authorised entities. These sponsors include government organisations, approved private event organisers, licensed conference organisers, exhibition operators, educational institutions, and event hosts authorised by UAE authorities. The organiser remains responsible for the sponsorship throughout the entire visa application process.
Before inviting international guests, organisers must complete several approval steps. They must register the event with the relevant UAE authority and obtain official approval. Organisers then apply for participant quotas and confirm expected attendance numbers. Authorities may approve visa quotas covering groups of 100 or more international attendees depending on the size of the event. Once approval is granted, sponsors prepare sponsorship letters for invited visitors. Each applicant must receive an official letter confirming the event name, purpose, duration, and invitation details.
