Manchester City secured Enzo Fernandez and Iliman Ndiaye on deadline day.
The Etihad side agreed a £125m fee for the 25‑year‑old Argentine midfielder, a sum that matches the British record set when Liverpool bought Alexander Isak. The fee was confirmed on Tuesday, the same day the club completed a £65m transfer for Senegalese winger Iliman Ndiaye.
Fernandez had been left out of the Chelsea squad by manager Xabi Alonso over the weekend, paving the way for his exit. City’s manager Enzo Maresca, who coached Fernandez at Chelsea, welcomed the reunion, noting the chance to work together again at the Etihad.
City’s summer spending spree continued with a £116m club‑record purchase of Elliot Anderson, an £86m signing of Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille, and a £34m deal for Brazilian winger Allan Elias from Palmeiras.
Goalkeeper Robert Sanchez also left Chelsea, joining Serie A side Como on a season‑long loan. The 28‑year‑old Spaniard departs shortly after his teammate Emi Martinez moved from Aston Villa to Chelsea.
