LEGO has released a Lionel Messi-themed set as part of its FIFA World Cup 2026 collaboration with four football stars: Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior. The LEGO Editions Lionel Messi - Celebration set (43018) launched on June 1, 2026, according to the official LEGO Shop. The set is one of nine new releases from LEGO Editions tied to football and the upcoming World Cup.
Set Details
The 43018 set is a 1,427-piece 3D wall-art model priced at $199.99 and aimed at builders aged 14 and older. It depicts Messi from behind in his signature victory pose, hands pointing to the sky, wearing his number 10 striped jersey. The design includes hidden references to moments from his career, including a tattoo on his right arm rendered using grey parts such as wheels, sausages, whips and repair tools,Outlook Respawn reported. The assembled piece measures roughly 38cm tall, 47cm wide and 5cm deep, and includes a hanging element for display.
Wider Campaign
LEGO launched the campaign under the platform "Everyone Wants a Piece,"according to Campaign Middle East. A second Messi set, LEGO Editions Lionel Messi - Football Highlights (43011), is a 500-piece display built on an M-shaped brick base in Argentina's national colours and includes a Messi minifigure,License Global reported. Sets for Ronaldo, Mbappe and Vinicius Jr round out the collection.
Joint Promotion
Messi and Ronaldo appeared together in a LEGO commercial promoting the line,The National reported on April 3, 2026. Most of the nine-set collection shipped on May 1, 2026, with the Celebration set following a month later. The campaign aims to position LEGO as more than a toy company by tying its sets to global sporting culture.
The Messi Celebration set sits at the higher end of LEGO's display-focused output rather than its play-focused minifigure lines.
