Guggenheim Abu Dhabi announced on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2026 that it will begin a month‑long pre‑opening programme of public talks, performances and workshops.
The schedule runs from September 25th to October 22nd, offering a series of events across Manarat Al Saadiyat and Louvre Abu Dhabi that let visitors preview the museum’s upcoming offerings.
Interactive installations and pop‑up talks
From September 25th to October 22nd, Manarat Al Saadiyat will host “Network of Answers,” an interactive installation commissioned from artist Agatha Gothe‑Snape. Participants step into a phone‑booth‑style space and answer a series of questions, helping to build a collective archive of voices from Abu Dhabi. The museum notes that no registration is required, making the experience easily accessible to the public.
Between September 25th and 27th the same venue presents “Art Appears: Chant Avedissian,” a pop‑up series of talks, workshops and hands‑on activities. The programme focuses on the late Egyptian artist’s reinterpretation of cultural icons and collective memory, offering insight into his artistic legacy through interactive sessions.
On September 29th, Louvre Abu Dhabi will feature a conversation titled “Abstractions: A Journey Between Islamic and Contemporary Art.” Artist Rachid Koraïchi joins curator Abdelkader Damani to discuss abstraction across cultures, drawing on calligraphy, geometry and contemporary practice. The dialogue aims to highlight the intersections of Islamic artistic traditions with modern visual language.
A glimpse of the museum’s vision
The museum says further talks, activations and outreach initiatives will travel across the UAE in the weeks ahead, forming part of a broader calendar that builds momentum toward its official opening on December 11th, 2026.
Designed by architect Frank Gehry and situated in the Saadiyat Cultural District, Guggenheim Abu Dhabi will span 11,600 sq m across 28 galleries, complemented by 23,000 sq m of exterior exhibition space. The project is a collaboration between the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation, reflecting a partnership that brings an internationally recognised brand to the capital’s cultural landscape.
