New stations set to open this autumn
On September 30, 2026 passenger services will formally expand to include Dubai Station, located near Jumeirah Golf Estates, and Al Dhaid Station in Sharjah. Later in the year the rollout continues. On November 30, 2026 Etihad Rail announced that the Madinat Zayed and Liwa stations in Abu Dhabi’s Al Dhafra region will open ahead of schedule. A month after that, on December 30, 2026, the network will further extend westward with the opening of Al Sila, Al Dhannah and Al Mirfa stations, all also situated in Al Dhafra. The final stop of the first phase, Sharjah University City Station, is slated for March 30, 2027, completing the initial passenger network.
Ticket prices and the scenic Fujairah route
Travelers on the introductory Abu Dhabi–Fujairah route enjoy a 50 percent launch discount. Comfort Class tickets start from Dh55, compared with a regular fare of Dh109, while Premium Class tickets begin at Dh120 against a regular fare of Dh239. Within each class three fare types are offered – Saver, Value and Flex – giving passengers flexibility to choose the level of service they need.
Children and senior citizens benefit from additional discounted rates, making the journey even more affordable for families. The route to Fujairah is already being praised as the network’s most scenic experience, taking passengers from the urban landscape of Abu Dhabi across golden sand dunes and into a breathtaking passage through the Hajar Mountains.
