Etihad Airways has boosted its U.S. network with extra Chicago, Charlotte flights.
The airline announced that, starting 15 June 2026, its service to O'Hare International Airport will operate twice daily. The move doubles the previous frequency and gives travellers more timing options for one‑stop journeys via Abu Dhabi, a hub that links North America with the Middle East and Asia‑Pacific.
More flights to Chicago
Chicago now enjoys two daily departures, each flown on a Boeing 787‑9 Dreamliner. The aircraft is configured with 32 Business seats and 271 Economy seats, providing ample space for both premium and leisure travellers. The cabin layout balances comfort and capacity, catering to business passengers seeking a premium experience as well as families and tourists travelling in economy.
Arik De, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer, highlighted the rationale behind the change. "The change reflects ongoing demand and supports consistent connectivity across the network."— Arik De, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer
With the added slot, passengers can connect to a range of destinations across India and the Asia‑Pacific, including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Manila. These connections reinforce Etihad’s strategy of linking major economic centres through its Abu Dhabi hub, making it easier for travellers to reach key markets in a single journey.
Daily service to Charlotte
Charlotte’s route, launched on 20 March 2026, moves from four weekly flights to a daily schedule. The revised frequency runs from 15 June until 8 September 2026, matching the demand seen since the route’s introduction and ensuring a steady flow of seats for both passengers and cargo.
Arik De also commented on the Charlotte upgrade. "The route has seen steady demand since its introduction, with the revised frequency supporting passenger and cargo movement between the Southeast United States and international markets."— Arik De, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer
The daily service links Charlotte to Etihad’s broader network, enabling onward travel to key hubs in the Middle East, South Asia and beyond, while also supporting cargo flows that benefit businesses on both sides of the Atlantic.
